Creative Block

The premise of the project was to investigate language (through words, images, or gestures), and processes of communication, including narratology, semiotics, and linguistics. In thinking about relationships of contiguity, the project evolved weekly. The form of the hand-bound 2”×4” flip book echoes the ways in which we understand meaning in language—through repetition, sequence, process, and exposure. This book became a playful solution, and goes on to explore ideas of lacking, downloading, understanding—in process. Additionally, it addresses the pressure of innovating instantaneously.
